2009 Cliff Lede Cinnamon Rhapsody Cabernet Sauvignon, Rock Block Series, Stags Leap District 1.5L
available
The 2009 “Cinnamon Rhapsody” possesses an inky dark purple color that’s unbelievably powerful, both in the nose and the palate. An abundance of blackberry, Belgian chocolate, Christmas cake, camphor, sweet molasses, and warm currants fill the glass. This full throttle beauty drips with kirch, warm dates, toasted walnuts, and black licorice flavors that are carried across the palate with ultrafine tannin. Rich, deep, and full-bodied, this voluptuous, sensational Cabernet finishes long and broad with flourishes of espresso, spring flowers, and baking spices. – Chris Tynan - Director of Winemaking

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The majority of this fruit was sourced from two distinctive blocks named “Cinnamon Girl” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” located on our estate. The soils and exposure of these two blocks demonstrate stark contrasts, which are reflected in the wine’s complex profile.
Production Notes
Grapes were picked in the darkness of the early morning hours, and immediately subjected to rigorous selection by our three-tiered hand-sorting system. The berries were gently delivered to tank by our distinctive crane system, minimizing disruption of berry integrity. Cold soaks lasted approximately five to eight days and native fermentations were managed via a combination of delestage, punchdowns and pumpovers. Extended maceration from three to five weeks fine-tuned our tannin profiles.
