The 2019 Brut from Savoy Vineyard is the third sparkling wine produced by FEL. Following the traditional méthode champenoise, this wine was made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This wine opens with an invigorating nose, evoking fresh ocean breezes and hints of oyster shells. The palate delivers with ripe, lush notes of green apple and rhubarb, and a vibrant burst of zesty lime peel and mandarin orange, adding a refreshing brightness. Vineyard Notes
This wine is made of a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from our estate Savoy Vineyard near the town of Philo in the Anderson Valley Appellation. The Pinot Noir is Dijon Clone 114, and the Chardonnay is the Prosser selection, one of the original 1991 plantings at Savoy.
Production Notes
The fruit was harvested on August 30th at 20.4° Brix, whole cluster pressed to tank, and settled for 24 hours. Fermentation occurred in neutral puncheons and barrels. The base wine was bottled after ten months sur lie and aged en tirage for three years before disgorging.
