Savoy Vineyard’s signature aromatics of bramble berry, mint, and spice are particularly intense with the 2022 vintage. As the wine breathes, the bouquet evolves and hints of hibiscus, pomegranate, and cassis begin to appear. The lightness and texture of the wine are particularly striking as flavors of black and Bing cherry, kirsch, and Mission Fig explode in the mouth.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Savoy Vineyard, long recognized as a benchmark vineyard in Anderson Valley, is located in the “Deep End” of the valley, west of the town of Philo. The maritime influence and moderate daytime temperatures contribute to the wine’s elegant flavor profile and silky tannins. This blend represents the confluence of two eras of Savoy Pinot Noir – the original, mature blocks of Dijon clones 115 and 114, and the younger plantings of California “heritage clones,” including Martini, Calera, Swan, and Mt. Eden.
Production Notes
The fruit was harvested in two picks on September 9th and 12th at an average of 23.2° Brix. It then went through a four-day cold soak at 50°F, a seven-day uninoculated primary fermentation peaking at 90°F and was pressed at dryness. The wine was aged fifteen months in 60-gallon French oak barrels, none of which were new. This vintage continues our transition away from the use of new barrels on our vineyard-designated wines, which we hope will lend greater focus on the terroir of the sites we love.
