At Cliff Lede Vineyards, we take the utmost care to protect your wine during transit. Please allow 5 business days for your order to be processed for shipping. Some library and large format wines may take longer. If you require delivery on a specific date, please contact our concierge to make arrangements 707-944-8642 or email shipping@ledefamilywines.com.
You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase wine, and wine shipments must be signed for by an adult 21 years of age or older. For these reasons, we suggest shipping to a business address. Returned shipments will be charged return and reshipment fees.
Weather Hold Policy
Our shipping and fulfillment team thoroughly reviews each shipment, particularly during extreme or inclement weather conditions. This meticulous process is a testament to our commitment to your satisfaction and the safety of your wine. Temperature Control Shipping
We are excited to introduce our new temperature-controlled shipping services, a significant upgrade that ensures your wine's safety, especially during hot or inclement weather. While this service requires additional information, it offers a superior alternative during inclement weather, guaranteeing your wine arrives in pristine condition.
- Advantages & Limitations: Temperature control is an excellent option for those who want to enjoy drinking wine during inclement weather. It adds insulated protection during transit at a reasonable price. Although we can ship gift sets, wood boxes, and large formats via temperature control service; a limitation is that we cannot add ice packs for the final leg of delivery to these specific items, so we don’t recommend shipping these items if temperatures are too high in the delivery location. Additionally, this service may not be the best option if you require expedited delivery or a precise date. Please note that during extreme weather conditions, even this service type can be delayed if temperatures exceed 85 degrees.
- Ship Date: All temperature control shipments are picked up on Friday via a 55-degree refrigerated truck that travels to 4 carrier hubs spread across the continental US. Midwest/South orders typically arrive at the carrier hub on Monday/Tuesday the following week. In contrast, East Coast/Southeast orders usually arrive at the carrier hub on Wednesday/Thursday the following week. Once at the carrier hub, a final ice pack is inserted to protect the package on the final leg of delivery, which is typically up to 2 days. Ice packs will generally not arrive as solid, frozen blocks. This is by design. The intent is to keep your wine cool, not cold or frozen. If your corks are intact, the ice packs likely have done their job, even if they have fully melted, and the bottles are not cold to touch.
- Transit Time: Please anticipate approximately two weeks until the order is delivered. Please note that it could be longer if temperatures are more than 85 degrees.
- Tracking Visibility: We understand the importance of knowing where your order is. While orders are in transit via refrigerated truck, the tracking status may not be immediately available. However, once the carrier scans the order, the expected delivery date and further status updates will be visible in the initial tracking notification. This process is designed to give you peace of mind and keep you informed about your delivery, ensuring you are always in control of your order.
Order Deadline
Please be aware that all orders require up to 5 days of processing and fulfillment time before they are ready for shipment. This information will help you plan your purchase and manage your expectations.
Redirecting Packages
Should an order require a redirect to an alternate address, the purchaser may be responsible for applicable redirect charges. Per state compliance laws, wine shipments cannot be redirected across state lines and must only be redirected within the same state. Additionally, redirecting packages is not guaranteed by our company or the carrier. Redirecting packages may result in a $15 fee per order.
Return to Sender Packages
We ensure the integrity of our wine on the first attempt. However, carriers will attempt to deliver your order three times. If the purchaser does not act before the third attempt and delivery is still unsuccessful, your order will be automatically returned. To avoid having your order returned and incurring additional fees, please contact our shipping team before the third delivery attempt. Returns may result in a $25 fee per order plus the standard shipping rate to reship the package.
