Our 2022 appellation blend Chardonnay highlights some of the best sites in Anderson Valley and reflects the valley’s signature characteristics of citrus and stone fruit. Aromatics of peach and lemon zest are immediately present while layers of pear and pineapple come through with additional time in the glass. The palate is bright and refreshing with flavors of orange and lime peel, with a textural component of wet rock and a lingering, quenching salinity.
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
This Chardonnay is a blend of multiple Heritage clones and Dijon selections. The primary source is multiple blocks from the vaunted Ferrington Vineyard, from which we also produce vineyard-designated Chardonnay and Pinot Noir bottlings, as well as the Hein Vineyard in the “Deep End” of Anderson Valley.
Production Notes
The fruit was harvested on September 12th and September 13th at an average of 22.1° Brix, then whole-cluster pressed to the tank. Fermentation occurred in neutral French oak barrels to provide richness and body while highlighting the purity of the variety and the excellent vineyard sources. The absence of malolactic fermentation preserves the wine’s freshness and acidity.
