2022 FEL Pinot Noir, Ferrington Vineyard
Sold Out
Ferrington is perhaps our most consistent vineyard in its aromatic character from vintage to vintage. The 2022 is loaded with intense aromatics of pie cherry, raspberry, and red currant. Rich flavors of strawberry, rhubarb, and hints of nutmeg are reminiscent of a great slice of pie. While this beautiful wine is drinking splendidly now, patience will be rewarded as it ages gracefully for a decade or more.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The vaunted Ferrington Vineyard is located just outside the town of Boonville, an area of Anderson Valley that is more protected from the maritime breeze, giving the wine from Ferrington a classically fruit-driven and opulent Pinot Noir character. This wine is made of a blend of Pommard, Wädenswil, and the Dijon clones 115, 777, and 828.
Production Notes
The fruit was harvested in two picks on August 26th and September 3rd at an average of 22.4° Brix. It then went through a four-day cold soak at 50°F, a seven-day uninoculated primary fermentation peaking at 90°F and was pressed at dryness. The wine was aged fifteen months in 60-gallon French oak barrels, none of which were new. This vintage continues our transition away from the use of new barrels on our vineyard-designated wines, which we hope will lend greater focus on the terroir of the sites we love
